Dane initially claimed in early December 2025 that he was writing a book on his life. Maria Shriver indicated at the time that her publishing company, The Open Field, would be bringing out Dane’s book, Book of Days: A Book in Moments.
The actor who died stated in a statement regarding the excellent news about his work, “Every morning when I wake up, I’m reminded that this is real—this illness, this challenge—and that’s why I’m writing this book.”
“I want to remember the good days, the bad days, and the days I didn’t take for granted,” he added.
